Scott Robinson

SCOTT ROBINSON (sax & multiple instruments), picked up his love for music from his parents, a piano teacher and a writer/editor for National Geographic, growing up in New Jersey. While in high school, he won the “Louis Armstrong Award” and the “Best Soloist Award” from the National Association of Jazz Educators. After studying at the Berklee College of Music, Scott became the youngest faculty member at the age of 22. He has appeared on more than 200 LP’s and CD’s with the likes of Lionel Hampton, Ella Fitzgerald, Elton John, John Pizzarelli and more, and has received four fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts as well as serving as Jazz Ambassador for the US State Department. This is Scott’s first North Carolina Jazz Festival, and we are looking forward to his “quirky”, adventurous approach to jazz.
