Harry Allen

Harry Allen, tenor saxophone soloist, was born in Washington, DC and received his B.A. degree in 1988 from Rutgers University, and now resides in NYC.  Of his more than thirty recordings, three have won Gold Disc Awards from Japan’s Swing Journal magazine.  His CD Tenors Anyone? won both the magazine’s Gold Disc and New Star Awards.  The Harry Allen-Joe Cohn Quartet won the New York Nightlife Award for Outstanding Jazz Combo Performance of 2006.  Harry performs a jazz festivals and clubs worldwide, frequently touring the U.S., Europe and Asia.  Additionally Harry is featured on many of John Pizzarelli’s recordings, including the soundtrack of the movie The Out of Towners, starring Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn.  This will be his seventh NCJF appearance.
